  • Brian, I’m adding a post with another photo of the rear suspension to give you a little different angle. As you said, there is really no shock dampening on the front swing arm.

The curious thing is how it all really works. The coil-over provides all the springing on the rear of the suspension by pushing against a fixed shaft that is only c…Read More

    • Awesome photo! I doesn’t get more 70’s, one piece suits and sideburns. It’s pretty amazing to see the rider position on these sleds, compared to modern sleds. Wonder how many boots they melted on the pipes.

    • I have this poster in my shop/man cave. I also use to have the same jacket, but, the icing on the cake, I still have the TXI helmet worn in this photo shoot. The dealership that I bought it from picked up quite a few things from Thief River Falls. All of the helmets & gear used for the Arctic Cat catalog as well as their videos are then sold off…Read More

  • I doubt anyone else does this but I find that if I put a couple of squirts of Klotz in the lawn tractor gas tank when I fill it, I get a whiff of winter every time I fire it up. It really helps me get motivated to cut the grass 🙂🙂🙂.

    • LOL!! Had some mixed gas with Klotz in it once and put it in my forklift could smell it for months after that LOL

    • I use Klotz in my weed wacker and leaf blower. Sometimes have to turn the exhaust towards me and inhale deeply a couple times. I’ve got a Klotz candle, but I can only burn it when my wife isn’t around.

      • I put it in my chainsaw but I only use that a couple of times a summer. A friend of mine also has the candle. His wife is not a fan.

  • ok so my buddy needs a polaris 800 axys crank rebuild whos the best

  • On the Kawasaki “Kawa-Bunga” project.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. Decided to create some fireworks of my own Saturday night (at least from a vocabulary perspective) and tear down the rear suspension.

There’s a lot not to like about the condition of the suspension. Some stuff is OK but I don’t think some parts can be…Read More

    • That is an interesting suspension, I take it the front swing arm is used only as an anchor for the rear shock? doesn’t seem like there would be enough movement in the front arm to really change positioning of the shock, when you put it back together would be interesting to see more how the rear arm actuates the shock, just doesn’t seem like the…Read More

  • What would you do in Rochester MN? Wife finally got accepted by Mayo to evaluate wtf is going on with her leg.
So happy on so many levels first being her well being but she finally will have to travel and get in the camper! I sold the “Van Cave” and bought a travel trailer as she mentioned she “might” travel with something bigger.. (even though…Read More

    • The two dates you mention are the beginning and the last day of the Air Show in Oshkosh. If you’re just passing through, no problems, maybe a slow-down here and there, but should be fine. Appleton to Green Bay is all construction this summer, expect two lanes and slower traffic for that stretch. Take your time, stay alert, you’ll be fine!

      • Thank you Gary. Slow I can handle. Hoping to see a plane or two flying.. One of the memorable airshows I witnessed was in Eau Clare. It might have been right after they made 53 a divided hwy and was headed home to Chicago. The Blue Angels were flying and we all parked on 53 and watched 😁

    • Odd as it seems, even though I lived about 65 miles from Rochester for 40 years or so, I’ve never been there. It’s a decent sized city, you’ll have no trouble passing the time, If you have a lot of free time, head over to the Mississippi towns of Grumpy Old Men fame (Wabasha, Lake City, etc.). Beautiful area and only about an hour away from Rochester.

    • Looking forward to the annual coverage of this event. There is noting else like it.

    • David, hopefully your wife will get the help and treatment she needs there, will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for success and good health at the Mayo!

      • Thank you Brian. BTW, met with the surgeon today for my 3 1/2 month follow up. Good news on range of motion but he is restricting lifting for two more months.. All I care about is it is back in service when snowmobile season opens 😉

    • All kidding aside, for all you do have a Safe Holiday Weekend. Pets too, keep the doggies cool and away from the noise makers.

  • Trying to figure this forum posting out. I posted a couple time yesterday on the general forum and actually attached a picture but I don’t see my posts in the General Discussion community?

    • Hi Paul, the General Discussion and Forum are two different areas for posting. Posting pictures on the Forum is not possible so you must have posted on the General Discussion page. You are correct, there is nothing posted from you since last week. You might want to try again. Remember to hit the Submit/Post button when you’re ready to post. It s…Read More
