Looks like we’ll have the website on AutoPilot at times this week as I’ll be working/volunteering at the AirVenture Fly In, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin over the next few days. We live about 15 miles north of the show so it’s hard to escape from the planes overhead, traffic, and visitors from around the world.
More than 700,000 visitors last year, so yeah, kind of a big deal! My assignment this year is a member of FLO. That’s an acronym for Flight Line Operations. Once the planes land, the Control Tower hands them off to us to taxi and for parking in an area called “the South 40”. It’s where the private planes park and camp for the duration of the week. The first picture of the following group, is that of the area I work in. They call it the South 40 but it’s more like 80 to 100 acres at the south end of Wittman Field. So, over the next few days, I’ll try to update with a few notes and pictures if time permits. Here’s a few pictures from last year’s Fly In…. Have a Great Week!
