On the Kawasaki “Kawa-Bunga” project.
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. Decided to create some fireworks of my own Saturday night (at least from a vocabulary perspective) and tear down the rear suspension.
There’s a lot not to like about the condition of the suspension. Some stuff is OK but I don’t think some parts can be…Read More

That is an interesting suspension, I take it the front swing arm is used only as an anchor for the rear shock? doesn’t seem like there would be enough movement in the front arm to really change positioning of the shock, when you put it back together would be interesting to see more how the rear arm actuates the shock, just doesn’t seem like the…Read More

What would you do in Rochester MN? Wife finally got accepted by Mayo to evaluate wtf is going on with her leg.
So happy on so many levels first being her well being but she finally will have to travel and get in the camper! I sold the “Van Cave” and bought a travel trailer as she mentioned she “might” travel with something bigger.. (even though…Read More7 Comments-
The two dates you mention are the beginning and the last day of the Air Show in Oshkosh. If you’re just passing through, no problems, maybe a slow-down here and there, but should be fine. Appleton to Green Bay is all construction this summer, expect two lanes and slower traffic for that stretch. Take your time, stay alert, you’ll be fine!

Odd as it seems, even though I lived about 65 miles from Rochester for 40 years or so, I’ve never been there. It’s a decent sized city, you’ll have no trouble passing the time, If you have a lot of free time, head over to the Mississippi towns of Grumpy Old Men fame (Wabasha, Lake City, etc.). Beautiful area and only about an hour away from Rochester.

David, hopefully your wife will get the help and treatment she needs there, will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for success and good health at the Mayo!

Trying to figure this forum posting out. I posted a couple time yesterday on the general forum and actually attached a picture but I don’t see my posts in the General Discussion community?

Hi Paul, the General Discussion and Forum are two different areas for posting. Posting pictures on the Forum is not possible so you must have posted on the General Discussion page. You are correct, there is nothing posted from you since last week. You might want to try again. Remember to hit the Submit/Post button when you’re ready to post. It s…Read More

Brian, you keep getting those grandkids out there. In what will seem like no time at all, they’ll be this age and loving fishing.

That’s my hope Kelly! and let me clear something up…this is NOT the first time I wanted to take them up north or fishing…it WAS the first time I was able to and now not only is it about forging relationships but exposing them to the outdoors and fishing, want to do this while it is cool so that when they are that age they will still love it.…Read More

Is there a way to post pictures in a “forum” wanted to put pictures up under “taking grandkids fishing” but did not see an option to do so and ended up posting on pictures page?
Brian, there is a way to do it but it’s not very user-friendly. It works the same way the “Insert Image” worked on the old JD forum. I used it a lot there so I am familiar with the method. The photos have to be uploaded to somewhere on the web . Then, to post a photo, you click on the little “img” tab to create a link to the photo location.…Read More

Thanks Kelly, I will stick with photo page, I did find the IMG tab and when what popped up did I was like huh???? photo page is easy peasy

Yeah, I’ve been back and forth with the I.T. guys. It’s one of those scenarios like, “this is what we can give you” and “but this is what I want”. For the time being, the general discussions is the best way to post pics.

Does anybody have a SQUARE PEG FOR A SQUARE HOLE? ANYBODY? I just spent a considerable amount of time (again) on the same issue with the same people. Regarding posting pictures on the Forum. To be perfectly honest, it’s probably not worth your time and effort. For all intents and purposes it’s best to post your photos on the General Discussion…Read More

The Kawasaki “Kawa-Bunga” Project:
As hot as it is, why not think sleds
, so we’re talking egged-out suspension holes, caused by years of pounding.
There are a number of solutions, depending on the mounting design, including welding/brazing. Not having the ability to do either, I have to find other means. This will take a couple of post…Read More -

The Kawasaki had two different solutions for the front and rear. The rear of the suspension is mounted to 1/16” plates that are replaceable. I was able to find a good right one on a spare chassis and a good left one on another chassis. Drill the out the rivets and replace the plates with the good ones. The first photo shows the hole d…Read More

The damaged hole is drilled out to the size of the bushing. After checking the bushing fit, I shim it just enough to be perfectly even with the inside tunnel surface. Done!
